Month of March

In the month of March we will be having our Picture Day on March 5th for Spring time. I will have my monthly Director's CHAT on Tuesday, March 9th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

On Wednesday, March 17th we will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day with a Round Robin @ 10:00 a.m. The children will have a fun time with different activities and food for St. Patrick's Day. Then we'll have a special snack @ 3:30 p.m. in all the classrooms.

On Tuesday, March 30th we will have our monthly PAL meeting @ 6:00 p.m. Mary Urtecho-Garcia who is the Coordinator for Nutrition and Physicial Activity for Dept. of Health in the Pasadena area. Mary will be speaking on "Nutritious Snacks". She'll be bringing a lot of great ideas for children and adults.

July 3 - 11:30 Picnic to celebrate the 4th of July.

Week of July 6 we will experience many customs of Japan by Making Sushi with a parent volunteer, Make a Cherry Blossom Tree, Learn to count from 1 to 10 in Japanese, Make Stuffed paper fish, and Make Origami figures.

Week of July 13 we will experience customs of Germany by learning to count from 1 to 10 in German, on July 14 we will have a special visitor who will read a German story to us, we will learn how to make potato pancakes, play instruments to German music and make a German flag.

Week of July 20 we will experience some crafts and customs from India by learning some Indian words, making a floating diwalic, creating an elephant, dancing to traditional Indian music and learning to count from 1 to 5 in Hindi.

Week of July 27 will feature the Philippines by cooking Lumpia, making a Philippine Flower Lei, decorating a Jeepney (bus) shape, making a Philppine flag and learning how to say hello and good-bye in tagalog.

June 17 at 4:30 pm - Pre-K Moving On Celebration and Potluck

June 19 in the afternoon we celebrate Father's Day. Our children will be making cards and gifts for their fathers as well as making a special treat for them to eat and enjoy.

June 24 at 6:00 pm - PAL meeting. At this meeting the Department of Health will send a representative to give us the "Sweet Message About Sugar".

June promises to be a fun and informative month. We here at Step by Step Pasadena hope to see all of you at our events.

Director's CHAT is Tuesday, Dec. 9th from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Then our "Winter Program" is Friday, Dec. 19th from 5:00 p.m. ( Infants, Older Infants, & Toddlers) / 6:00 p.m. ( Preschool 1, Preschool 2, & Pre K).

Gobble Gobble!

November 19th @ 6:00 p.m. we're having our PAL Meeting. Our guest speaker is Pat Kosis from Foothill Family Services. She'll be talking about Early Esteem.

Then on November 21st is our Multicultural Feast @ 11:30 a.m.

We extend a warm welcome to Laurie Benns our new Family Service Coordinator and Jeneen Garcia our new cook.

We received our NAEYC re-accrediation as of October 31st 2008 to 2013. We're all very excited about this great news.

We also received the Center of the Year 2008 and the Director of the Year 2008. We were all very excited about receiving the awards.
